Key Responsibilities
- Geological mapping, sampling and quality control.
- Supervision of exploration teams.
- Provide Geo-technical services to the mining function.
- Core logging and data capturing.
- Assisting Geologists to carry out mineral resource estimation and reconciliations.
- Assisting Geologists to prepare geological reports.
- Records management.
Requirements
- Diploma in Geology from the Zimbabwe School of Mines plus at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a hard rock mining environment.
- Practical mastery of Maptek geological software is a distinct advantage.
- Practical experience in rock mechanics and associated geo-technical work an added advantage.
- Practical knowledge and understanding of production geology processes and methodologies, including but not limited to sampling and grade control.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of safety management systems applicable to large-scale mining operations/companies, preferably the NOSA and/or ISO Systems.
- Good working knowledge and experience of an ERP system, preferably SAP.
- Holder of a clean Class 4 Driver’s License.
