Key Responsibilities

• Full operational management of the duty-free retail store, including staff management, financial performance, customer service excellence, and inventory control
• Management of customs bonding procedures, excise exemption documentation, and all regulatory compliance specific to bonded duty-free retail environments
• Sourcing and procurement of products from international duty-free suppliers and brand principals, maintaining and developing key supplier relationships
• Management of cross-border supply chain logistics between Zimbabwe and South Africa, including import/export compliance and bonded goods handling
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with the duty-free retail licence and all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements
• Training, mentoring, and development of local Zimbabwean staff in all aspects of duty-free retail operations
• Financial management including budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss accountability, and achievement of revenue targets
• Reporting to the Board of Directors on operational performance, compliance status, and strategic initiatives

Requirements

• Minimum 5 (five) years’ direct, hands-on experience in international duty-free retail operations (non-negotiable)
• Proven experience in establishing, launching, and/or managing duty-free retail operations from inception
• Demonstrated working knowledge of customs bonding procedures, excise compliance frameworks, and duty-free regulatory requirements
• Established personal relationships with international duty-free product suppliers, brand principals, and specialist distributors
• Experience in cross-border supply chain management within the Southern African region (preferred)
• Strong financial management capability including budgeting, P&L accountability, and management reporting
• Proven leadership and staff development experience
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, Retail Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field (advantageous)
• Fluency in English (essential); knowledge of additional languages (advantageous)
