The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic General Manager to lead our multi-property operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in hospitality management, with extensive experience in luxury safari camps, hotels, or lodges. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, mentoring diverse teams, and delivering outstanding guest experiences while meeting strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage 5-star teams across multiple properties in the luxury hospitality sector

• Oversee financial management, including budgeting, capex projects, and profitability targets

• Drive business development and sales strategies to grow revenue and market share

• Implement and maintain high standards of service delivery, SOPs, and quality controls

• Foster stakeholder relationships, including owners, suppliers, agents, and local communities

• Mentor and develop staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

• Manage HR and training functions, ensuring compliance and staff welfare

• Champion environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives

• Oversee project management for new builds, renovations, and operational upgrades

Skills and Attributes

• Hospitality experience in East and Southern Africa

• Experience in building and commissioning high end safari camps and lodges

• Strategic management and analytical thinking

• High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills

• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills

• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Solid HR knowledge and team leadership experience

• Expertise in Food & Beverage innovation and guest experience

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in senior hospitality management roles (safari, hotel, lodge, or similar)

• Higher National Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management or related field

• Proven success in multi-property operations and project management

• Experience working in remote or multicultural environments is highly desirable

• Track record of driving profitability and operational improvements
