Fairtalk Communications (Skyz. Metro FM & Breeze FM) is inviting applications for the post of General Manager. The General Manager must have appreciation of regulations governing the broadcasting industry.
Duties And Responsibilities
• Advising the board of directors on critical developments in the broadcasting industry and in the company.
• Ensuring that the company has in place, appropriate systems to conduct its activities both lawfully and ethically.
• Make high-level decisions pursuant to the implementation of the company’s strategic direction, vision and mission and to enhance the positioning of the Company and maximise shareholder value.
• Setting up parameters for expansion of a range of programs, transmission and services and for the introduction of new technologies and broadcasting platforms in the business.
• Crafting and revising the core business processes and creating new customer segments, service charter and programming and service offerings with a view of increasing market share and continually improving profitability and service delivery.
• Assessing the principal risks the company faces and ensuring that these are being monitored and managed.
• Reviewing and reporting to the board, the performance levels and progress with regards to the business plan, business activities, benchmarks, operating targets amongst other key performance indicators.
• Ensuring the integrity of all public disclosures by the company.
• Ensuring that the company maintains high standards of corporate citizenship and social responsibility where ever it does its business.
• Any other duties as maybe assigned from time to time by the board through the Chairman.
Qualifications And Experience
Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following, Business Studies, Media Studies, Journalism, Broadcasting, Telecommunications, or any related Social Science degree.
• Demonstrate appreciation of the importance of new media and media convergence as strategic growth areas
• At least 3 years’ experience in a senior managerial position preferably in a Mass Media Broadcasting house.
• A relevant Master’s degree in Business Administration, Media and Communication, Broadcasting, Public Administration or any relevant field will be an added advantage.
