JOB TITLE: GENERAL HAND–CLEANING SECTION (4 POSTS)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Director of Central Services and Amenities.
- Clean and sanitise laboratory daily
- Maintain allocated tools, equipment, and detergents in safe and usable condition
- Prepare venues for diarised activities & other events (e.g. Meetings and Workshops) and ensure that they are ready on time and meet the requirements of each function.
- Washing up / cleaning and drying of glassware and other apparatus.
- Collect dirty glassware from labs and assist with the change-over of clean materials.
- Clearing drying racks, putting away glassware and apparatus and ensuring that stocks in each laboratory are sufficient.
- Working together with the technicians to ensure that the maintenance and cleanliness of laboratories and equipment is suitable at all times for researchers and students to be able to work efficiently and safely.
- General housekeeping of the laboratories, ensuring adequate provision of soap, paper towels & washing up liquid.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in cleaning.
- Possession of ‘O’ levels passes will be an added advantage.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Ability to multitask with a good state of health and physic.
- Mature person who can work with minimum supervision.
- Good time management skills.
- A person respectful and dependable.
- A team player.
- Knowledge of basic handyman skills.
