Job Title: General Hand (Cleaner/Tea Maker)
Department: Administration
Accountable: Deputy Registrar
Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties
- Cleaning offices, furniture and toilets.
- Cleaning windows and maintaining curtains/ blinds in Council offices.
- Cleaning (dusting and vanishing) boardroom furniture and cleaning boardroom floors.
- Watering flowers (indoor plants).
- Reporting any toilet blockages and any other technical faults arising in the toilets to the responsible Supervisor.
- Assist with identifying office furniture requiring repairs.
- Assist in the procurement of cleaning and tea requirements.
Kitchen Duties
- Making tea and meals for the following:
- Council staff throughout the day
- All Council and Committee meetings
- Cleaning the kitchen
- Cleaning tea cups and saucers used for tea by the Council
- Responsible for reporting any faults and breakages of kitchen utensils and equipment
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time
Qualifications
- Five (5)0 level subjects
- Hard working and honest with no criminal record
- Five years continuous experience in office environment
- Thirty years of age or above
- Excellent time management, observation, and communication skills
- Home Economics certificate will be an added advantage
