An opportunity has arisen within Nyatsime College for suitably qualified persons to fill in the position of General Hand. The successful incumbent will be is reporting to the college Bursar and will be responsible for performing any unskilled work under supervision.
Duties And Responsibilities
Responsibilities
• Ensures that the school grounds are clean.
• Cuts grass throughout the grounds.
• Trims the hedge and bushes
• Assists with duplicating when the need arises.
• Reads water and electricity meters in the teachers’ houses and other College buildings.
• Assists/directs all contractors engaged by the College in conducting repairs.
• Carries out painting for beautification purposes of the grounds, chairs, buildings etc.
• Sweeping of corridors, grounds, classrooms and offices.
• Making and serving of tea to the teaching staff and visitors
• Growing of flowers, lawns, shrubs and doing gardening or agriculture work.
• Report all breakages and faults to infrastructure.
• Report all cases of vandalism to infrastructure.
• Conduct unskilled repair work to the water and sewerage system.
• To do any other duties assigned by the Principal/ Administrator.
Qualifications And Experience
Requirements
• 5 “O” Levels.
• Previous work experience in a similar role.
• Methodical and organized and able to work on own initiative.
