Job Title: Gender and Wellness Officer x 4
Duty Station: Head Office
Reports to: Deputy Director Gender and Wellness
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and promote gender-sensitive policies and initiatives aligned with national and international standards.
- Facilitate training and awareness campaigns on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
- Design and oversee wellness programs that support the mental, emotional, and physical health of NPAZ staff.
- Coordinate wellness activities, counselling services, and health promotion initiatives.
- Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars to sensitize staff and management on gender issues, wellness, and inclusive practices.
- Establish indicators and collect data to measure the effectiveness of gender and wellness initiatives.
- Prepare reports and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with government agencies, civil society, and other stakeholders to promote gender equality and wellness initiatives within the justice sector.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on gender-related concerns, harassment prevention, and wellness-related matters.
- Ensure organizational adherence to national gender policies, anti-discrimination laws, and international commitments related to gender and human rights.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Gender Studies, Psychology, Counselling. A relevant master’s degree is an advantage.
- One year experience in gender advocacy, wellness programs, or related roles within government or civil society organizations.
- Strong understanding of Zimbabwean legal frameworks related to gender equality, human rights, and workplace health.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement policies and conduct training.
- Sensitivity to cultural and gender diversity issues.
