Job Title: Gender and Wellness Officer x 4

 

Duty Station: Head Office
Reports to: Deputy Director Gender and Wellness

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  1. Develop, review, and promote gender-sensitive policies and initiatives aligned with national and international standards.
  2. Facilitate training and awareness campaigns on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
  3. Design and oversee wellness programs that support the mental, emotional, and physical health of NPAZ staff.
  4. Coordinate wellness activities, counselling services, and health promotion initiatives.
  5. Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars to sensitize staff and management on gender issues, wellness, and inclusive practices.
  6. Establish indicators and collect data to measure the effectiveness of gender and wellness initiatives.
  7. Prepare reports and recommend improvements.
  8. Collaborate with government agencies, civil society, and other stakeholders to promote gender equality and wellness initiatives within the justice sector.
  9. Provide guidance and support to staff on gender-related concerns, harassment prevention, and wellness-related matters.
  10. Ensure organizational adherence to national gender policies, anti-discrimination laws, and international commitments related to gender and human rights.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Gender Studies, Psychology, Counselling. A relevant master’s degree is an advantage.
  • One year experience in gender advocacy, wellness programs, or related roles within government or civil society organizations.
  • Strong understanding of Zimbabwean legal frameworks related to gender equality, human rights, and workplace health.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and conduct training.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and gender diversity issues.
