JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client, in the tourism sector of Zimbabwe, is looking for an experienced Park Manager to lead their team and report to the park’s Board of Directors. He/she would be responsible for the overall running of the park, leading a small team, with a focus on sustainable wildlife management.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop facilities and concessions
• Plan and manage all projects undertaken in the park
• Generate revenue to sustain park operations
• Oversee security and anti-poaching
• Fire management and training
• Manage wildlife populations, recommend introductions and harvesting quotas
• Develop sources of water
• Community outreach programs
• Develop the Park Plan and drive its process
• Meeting and managing all stakeholders
• Produce and present operational, financial, and ecological reports for the board.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Wildlife Management or relevant degree with a focus on wildlife and environmental management
• 5 years’ experience (minimum) managing wildlife areas
• Proven track record in anti-poaching and law enforcement
• Strong interpersonal management and communication skills
• Tourism experience
• Good financial acumen
• Knowledge of laws relevant to Zimbabwe regarding wildlife conservation
