Fitter and Turner (class2)
The incumbent will be responsible for overall maintenance and repairs of the mechanical plant and equipment to ensure that plant availability and utilization are within budget
Duties And Responsibilities
Carrying out scheduled maintenance and ensuring adherence to the planned maintenance schedule.
Trouble shooting and repairing mechanical plant and equipment
Machining of mechanical components
Supervision of assistants and ensuring compliance to safety regulations and procedures
Assisting in the procurement of mechanical spares and components
Qualifications And Experience
National Certificates or Diploma in machine – shop engineering
Class 2 Machine – shop journeyman certificates
Apprenticeship training is an added advantage
3 year post training experience
Mining and / or quarry industry experience is required
Experience working with crushers and conveyors systems
Knowledge of safety, health and environmental systems is required
