Duties And Responsibilities
The role – What we expect from you:
Prepare annual reports for external stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
Prepare half year and year-end financial packs for Group consolidation.
Research on new accounting standards or changes to the existing standards and advise management timely.
Take the lead in preparing Bank monthly management accounts.
Write commentary reports on profitability and performance including key indicators for the consolidated Bank position.
Review intercompany reconciliations and sign off with all subsidiaries.
Review and analyze daily exception reports.
Investigate and report on significant transactions and provide commentary to management.
Review Trial Balance movements and account for such accurately and completely.
Check and review the Group Settlement Transactions Report for balancing and addressing imbalances.
Maintain an accurate and updated documentation of Accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications And Experience
Qualifications, Skills & Experience required:
Possess a relevant degree in Accounting or similar from a recognized tertiary institution.
Should have a full professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CIS, CA (Z) or similar.
Have at least four years’ relevant working experience preferably acquired in a financial services or related environment.
Have thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Should possess the ability to prepare accurate and factual financial reports.
Should be able to relate at all levels and across functions.
Willing to work under pressure and within strict deadlines.
