DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To prepare financial statements
- To develop and appraise an efficient accounting system to be used.
- To prepare appropriation account and annual statutory reports and returns for submission to Treasury and Auditor General.
- To prepare a monthly-consolidated financial analysis.
- To prepare Recurrent and Capital budgets.
- To control and monitor the budget performance of the Commission.
- To respond to audit reports.
- To produce management reports.
- To ensure that all payments due are done.
- To reconcile creditorsand debtors.
- To ensure virements are done correctly.
- To upload Electronic Bank Statement and batch processing.
- Supervise Accounting Assistants in the section.
- Any do other duties delegated by the Manager Finance.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Full CIS, Full CIMA, Full ACCA or equivalent.
- Experience in Government Accounting and knowledge of PFMS is an added advantage.
- Proficiency with SAP, Pastel, Microsoft Office Applications and Public Finance Management Act
- Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact with all levels.
- Must be a person of high integrity, ethical, honest and responsible person.
