CNFA is a US-based non-profit nongovernmental organization (NGO) that works to stimulate economic growth and improve rural livelihoods in the developing world through five core capabilities: (1) Productivity, Food Security and Nutrition; (2) Input Supply and Farm Services; (3) Economic Resilience and Rapid Recovery; (4) Value Chain Development; and (5) Volunteer Technical Assistance. Amalima Loko is a new USAID-funded 5-year program implemented by CNFA and 5 partner organizations which applies community-driven approaches to improve food security, nutrition, and natural resource management in over 80 communal wards in Matabeland North. Position Summary As a Finance Officer you will be required to post entries, manage records. Prepare reports, payments and reconciliations. This position reports to the Financial/Payables Accountant. Location – Lupane or Hwange with occasional travel within Amalima Loko operational area. Responsibilities Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded. Processing of payments to vendors. Review and process employee advances and acquittals. Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports Assist Accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings Assist with other accounting tasks

Work/Educational Requirements

A holder of an Accounting Degree. At least 3 years’ relevant accounting experience, NGO experience strongly preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirement Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations. Computer proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices Ability to manage complex working relationships. Excellent organizing skills Great attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Languages Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Ability to speak and understand IsiNdebele and/or other languages spoken in Matabeleland North is preferred
