Contract duration: Fixed Term (3 Months)
CeSHHAR Zimbabwe is an organization that specializes in sexual health, HIV and AIDS research in Zimbabwe. CeSHHAR in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) and National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe (NAC) in implementing a National Sex Work Programme aimed at reducing HIV acquisition and transmission among female, male and transgender sex workers thereby reducing HIV transmission and acquisition to and from their clients. Low consistent condom use, risk of drug use and increasing transactional sex are some of the common reasons that put these key populations at risk of acquiring STI and HIV infection. Therefore, reaching these populations and increasing awareness and access to STI & HIV prevention, testing and treatment services are fundamental to reducing transmission of STI and HIV infections.
Job responsibilities
The role will be responsible for duties highlighted below and any other duties assigned by the supervisor: General ledger completeness and accuracy, Monthly management accounts, reconciliations and management reports; assisting in general implementation and monitoring of project accounting systems (e.g. Imprest system, Procurement system, Financial systems) and policies; to assist in ensuring compliance with plans and offer advice where deviations are discovered; debtors and creditors processing, monthly bank reconciliations, checking advance acquittals and reconciliations, transaction posting, checking cashflow balances before checking; Vat tracking; Any other duties as need by the project.
Qualifications and experience
A degree in Accounting from a reputable academic institution. Must be working towards an accounting professional qualification. At least 3 years relevant experience in a similar role preferably in the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) sector. Knowledge and hands – on experience of Pastel and Sage systems is essential. Proficient in computer skills such as Microsoft Excel.
