TYPE OF CONTRACT: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Finance Officer collaborates with both finance and non-finance staff to ensure the organization meets its financial obligations effectively and on time. The role involves maintaining strong financial systems, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and supporting financial planning and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Systems & Compliance
• Establish, maintain, and enhance financial systems and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, donor requirements, and internal policies.
Financial Management & Reporting
• Manage daily financial transactions in line with organizational policies.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for projects and operations.
• Prepare financial statements, donor reports, and budgets.
• Conduct variance analysis and financial forecasting to support decision-making.
Audits & Budgeting
• Support audit processes and ensure timely responses to audit queries.
• Develop and manage operational and project budgets.
Procurement & Accounts Management
• Facilitate procurement processes in compliance with financial guidelines.
• Review and process invoices, accounts payable, and receivables.
• Oversee petty cash management and reconciliations.
Other Responsibilities
• Collect, review, and consolidate project financial data for reporting.
• Perform any other accounting duties as required to support the organization’s operations.

Qualifications and Experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Degree in Accounting or A Professional qualification – SAAA, CIS/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent.
• 3 years of relevant experience in the Finance department, within an NGO Environment.
