Finance Manager

Leap Consulting, on behalf of our client in the agricultural sector, is recruiting for a Finance Manager.

The role of the Finance Manager will be to work closely with the Directorship to provide critical insight into all aspects of financial performance of the business in order to deliver business objectives. They will report to the Finance Director and be responsible for management accounting, budgeting, payroll, external audit, treasury function and inventory cost accounting. The Finance Manager will also support the Finance Director on various business development projects. The successful candidate will be a qualified chartered accountant with a strong attention to detail and decision-making ability.

This is a full-time role based in Harare.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Operational & Management:

  • Responsibility for the co-ordination and final production of all financial reporting
  • Ensure daily/weekly/monthly operational reporting and analysis is completed to schedule for all sectors of the business
  • Preparation of information for budgeting purposes and monitoring of actual performance against budget
  • Preparation of permanent employee payroll
  • Managing of certain higher-level tax matters of the entity
  • Maintenance of all external financial reporting requirements (eg to financial institutions)
  • Preparation of adhoc management reporting as required
  • Direct assistance of Financial Director

Audit Preparation:

  • Assist with the management of the annual external audit process
  • Preparation of Financial Statements and maintenance of internal control
  • Manage relationship with external auditors

Treasury Function:

  • Maintenance of daily/weekly/monthly cashlfow forecast and requirement
  • Managing cashflow timing from various finance facilities to meet business expenditure needs and monitor cost of funds
  • Day to day reporting requirements in relation to finance facilities, including control of security requirements such a stock declarations and pledging
  • Liaise directly with financiers in carrying out above responsibilities

Inventory Cost Accounting:

  • Responsibility for preparing and maintaining inventory costing information from budget
  • Maintenance of Inventory Valuation reports throughout the manufacturing flow
  • Reconciliation of inventory cost information from various departments and external service providers and suppliers
  • Assistance to other departments relying on inventory cost information

Qualifications include:

  • High level accounting qualification (Chartered Accountant or equivalent)
  • Strong MS Office ability, communicative skill and commercial acumen
  • Previous exposure to senior stakeholders and strong communication skills
  • Agriculture experience will be valuable but is not essential
