Finance Assistant

A leading youth organisation is looking for a Finance Assistant. We are looking for a passionate, young individual a results-driven achiever with exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation to assist with accounting and administrative duties. Duties will require certain flexibility in attendance. This post is being offered on a short term 9 months contract basis with possibility of renewal.

Finance Assistant

Support the Finance Officer in recording and retrieving financial details, including maintaining financial records, processing payments, cash handling and salaries. These services may include, but are not limited to, any of the following:

Job Description

Track petty cash, keeping appropriate records, and maintaining reconciliations; Prepare Project Budgets; Maintain the financial filing system in an orderly and systematic manner; Post financial data into Pastel; Prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis and submit for review and authorisation; Assist with Audit preparations; Process all financial transactions in an orderly manner; Implement general office admin tasks including printing, photocopying, stationary procurement and so forth; Be prepared to undertake any other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager and Finance Officer

The person

An Accounting Degree, minimum of 2.1-degree class, 1st Class an added advantage; 2 years working experience in the field of finance and administration; Experience in PASTEL a must; Excellent command of written and spoken English; Good computer skills including Microsoft packages
