Job Description

 

DevWorks International (DevWorks) is recruiting for a Director of Finance and Operations for an anticipated USAID Zimbabwe non-timber forest products activity. This activity aims to strengthen the non-timber forest products (NTFPs) value chain from tree maintenance to seed collection, aggregation, transportation, processing and marketing in other to improve the resilience of target communities impacted by unfavourable agro-ecological zones. The activity will also aim to reduce human-wildlife conflict by exploring options of reducing wildlife encroachment into affected communities.

 

The Finance and Operations Director will provide support to the Chief of Party (COP) to ensure efficient management of the operational aspects of the project, as well as overall compliance with contractual requirements, policies, USAID regulations, and local law. He/she will be responsible for the overall management of finance, procurement and personnel, facilities and property, and policies and procedures. He/she will supervise the Accountant, Procurement Officer, and the Regional Human Resources and Operations Manager.

 

Qualifications

 

· B.A. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent. Advanced degree MBA, CPA or equivalent preferred;

· 10+ years of relevant experience and progressive responsibility in finance and accounting, office administration, project operations at the mid-level of an organization;

· Minimum 5 years’ experience managing USAID funded projects;

· Experience leading and managing the financial aspects of USAID projects, including a demonstrated understanding of applicable finance-related USG contracting regulations;

· Accuracy in working with large amounts of data;

· Experience supervising staff;

· Verbal and written fluency in English is required.
