Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position that has arisen within the Environmental Management Agency (EMA) – an equal opportunity employer:
Position: FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Grade: C5
Station: BINDURA
The job holder will be responsible for ensuring safe custody of the Agency’s financial resources, security items and assets.
Duties and Responsibilities Entail:

Cash receipting and banking, POS, Ecocash and RTGS transfers. Processing and verifying invoices for fines, levies and fees.

Conducting credit control i.e. collection of amounts owing on due date.

Managing the Imprest Account. Generating and updating cash book and bank reconciliation on a monthly basis.

Ensuring financial policies and procedures of EMA are adhered to.

Capturing and posting single transactions in the revenue and expenditure cash journals.

Capturing and posting all the POS transactions on the bank statement in the Acumatica system.

Generating comparative schedules, purchase and payment requisitions.

Budgetary control and preparing variance reports on a monthly basis.

Preparing and updating commitment registers.

Disbursing funds to EMA funded projects.

Ensuring safe custody of the security items and issuing them upon request.

Ensuring that Agency statutory payments are paid monthly, quarterly and annually.
Qualifications, Experience and Competences:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or any other related degree from a recognised tertiary institution.

A professional qualification such as CGI, CA, CIMA, ACCA, IAC, SAAA, or any other related certification will be an added advantage.

At least three years relevant experience in the Accounting field.

Ability to operate within tight deadlines.
