Field Service Technician

Company Overview: Intrachem (Pvt) Ltd, a leading supplier and manufacturer of mining explosives and accessories serving Zimbabwe and the region, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Field Service Technician at our various sites.

Role Summary: The Field Service Technician will be responsible for ensuring that there is on site explosive product technical support to the different customer/mines through the on the ground leading/advisory, training and coordination of the technical service blasting support process in the most cost efficient and effective ways.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing blast designs and blast evaluations (troubleshooting customer explosives usage and performance challenges)

• Presiding over the charging process together with the technical support team ensuring customer charging needs are met as well as monitoring costs.

• Daily, Weekly, Monthly reporting.

• Training customer and internal technical team on product and equipment knowledge.

• Researching and keeping the business current on market and technological developments i.e., product/industry development, customer requirements and competitor activities.

• Handling customer inquiries, queries, and complaints (customer relationship management)

• Safety, Health, Environment and Quality management of the work process and people involved.

• Managing a team of operators and assigned Mobile Manufacturing Units as well as liaising with outsourced maintenance service providers.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma/ Degree in Mining Engineering or similar technical discipline from a recognised institute.

• Full Blasting Licence.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an explosive and/or technical mining environment.

• Excellent skills in communication, analytical/attention to detail, well-structured, organised, and able to work independently.

• Familiar and well versed in blasting engineering software, Microsoft Office (excel/word/outlook).

• Be prepared to travel around Zimbabwe and work in remote mining locations and over weekends and holidays.

Location: This position is based at the Intrachem’s various sites.
