Key Responsibilities

  • Developing work schedules, assigning tasks, and monitoring productivity and staff attendance.
  • Resource management planning and controlling.
  • Preparing plans and work schedules for planting, weed and pest management, and harvesting.
  • Maintaining accurate records of input stocks for seed, fertilizer, chemicals, and curing materials.
  • Recruiting, deploying, supervising and training labour across farm operations.
  • Handling labour issues – disputes, grievances, & disciplinary matters in line with regulations.
  • Scheduling repairs and maintenance and replacement of equipment and machinery.
  • Producing and maintaining farm records.
  • Ensuring all staff adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Managing curing operations and supervising the forced draught curing system; including Chongololo and Batch curers.
  • Managing the cooperative’s activities including stakeholder relations, member training, task allocation and distribution of resources.

Requirements

  • National Certificate/ Diploma/Higher National Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy or Farm Management.
  • Post graduate Certificate in Tobacco Production is an added advantage.
  • At least 5 Ordinary level Passes including Maths and English.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in Commercial farming.
  • Practical experience with forced draught curing systems, including Chongololo and Batch curers.
  • Knowledge of Zimbabwean Farm labour laws and farm labour management practices.
  • Verifiable production history for tobacco and other crops.
  • Valid Class 3 drivers’ licence is mandatory
  • Valid Class 4 Drivers licence is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
