Job Summary
Exciting and challenging opportunities have arisen within First Mutual Reinsurance Company in the Operations Department. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill these vacancies on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head Underwriting, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Duties And Responsibilities
• Underwriting of new and renewal of existing business in standard risk classes, developing and maintaining a profitable Facultative portfolio, with adherence 10 departmental underwriting philosophy and rules and guidelines.
• Bringing an array of solutions, alternatives and options to clients based on their reinsurance needs whilst not compromising technical pricing or exceeding capacity guidelines. • Assessing the adequacy of submitted claims documentation Understanding the relationship between the Company risk appetite and the purchasing of reinsurance coverage. • Recording claims information in Operating system
• Advising the risk management department on the accounts that requires sure,
• Analysing and managing the payment patterns of allocated cedants
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, reinsurers as well as internal stakeholders.
• Assisting in the formulation of the marketing strategy
Qualifications And Experience
• Degree in Risk Management or Insurance.
• A Professional Qualification I.e. ACII, ARM is an added advantage.
• Al least 3 years’ experience in a similar position in a short-term insurance or reinsurance environment.
• Good knowledge of Facultative practices.
• Knowledge and understanding of current market trends within the Industry, external factors that could impact the business, as well as a sound understanding of competitor product offerings.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
