Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Facilities Officer will be responsible for the effective maintenance, safety, compliance, and upkeep of AGS offices, warehouses, workshops, grounds, utilities, and related facilities. The role ensures all facilities are safe, functional, compliant, and fit for purpose, supporting efficient day-to-day operations across AGS.

We seek an energetic, organised, and solutions-oriented individual with a strong understanding of facilities management and building maintenance. The successful candidate must have excellent planning, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage contractors, multiple priorities, and facilities-related projects in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of AGS offices, warehouses, workshops, grounds, and related facilities.
  • Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programmes for buildings, infrastructure, and utilities.
  • Coordinate repairs, renovations, workspace reconfigurations, and facilities improvement projects.
  • Manage facilities contractors, service providers, and maintenance schedules to ensure quality and timely service delivery.
  • Ensure facilities comply with occupational health and safety, environmental, fire safety, and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain facilities records, permits, certifications, maintenance documentation, and compliance registers.
  • Monitor utility consumption and support cost containment and efficiency initiatives.
  • Coordinate office relocations, workspace allocations, and facility reconfigurations as required.
  • Support emergency preparedness, business continuity, and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Promote clean, safe, efficient, and professional working environments across all AGS locations.

Requirements

  • HND or Degree in Facilities Management, Building Technology, Property Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree will be an added advantage where the applicant holds an HND.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ relevant experience in facilities management, building maintenance, property or infrastructure maintenance.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, service providers, and maintenance activities.
  • Sound understanding of building systems (electrical, plumbing, utilities, general maintenance).
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements and facilities compliance standards.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
