We seek to recruit an experienced and qualified Exploration Geological Technician based at Freda Rebecca Gold Mine in Bindura. We are looking for an experienced Exploration Geological Technician to join our Technical Services team. This position reports to the Geologist.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures health, safety, environment and quality standards are maintained.
- Processes drilling samples, i.e core cutting, core sampling, meter marking, core recovery, RC chip weighing, density measurements.
- Conducts geological logging and QAQC.
- Designs and implementing systematic sampling programs to collect representative samples of the ore being extracted.
- Monitors rig activity and ensures effectiveness of drilling by providing solutions.
- Supervises, monitors and controls drilling activities.
- Communicates geological information, interprets the data and provides guidance on adjusting mining practices based on geological expertise.
- Ensures site preparations are done in advance.
- Ensures site preparations are done in advance.
- Does underground and surface geological mapping.
- Ensures training and development of employees in the section to meet identified performance and development gaps.
- Provides detailed geological maps.
- Locates areas in core with high mineralization potential.
- Performs any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Degree/ Diploma in Geology from a recognizable institution.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in gold mining/ exploration.
- Proven experience in supervising exploration projects.
- Proficiency in core logging and sampling.
- Clean Class 4 driver’s license and Defensive Driving license is a must.
