REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
SUMMARY The Executive Director will take leadership in the coordination and implementation of the Country Family Planning programme as mandated by the Zimbabwe National Family Planning Act (1987). He! She will initiate the development of corporate strategies and implementing family planning and related SRHR programmes. He/she will spearhead the sourcing for and ensuring the adequacy of financial, material and human resources required for the effective pursuance and accomplishment of desired goal. To establish and maintain close liason with the Board, donors and related institutions in promoting family planning objectives and provide guidance to Council’s top management team.
Duties And Responsibilities
STRATEGIC PLANNING
– Controls and coordinates the development of long term plans aimed at popularizing and promoting the provision of adequate and suitable family planning services and facilities in the country. Initiates the formulation and implementation of plans for family planning! SRHR programmes and other community development activities related to family health in liason with other institutions. Mobilize the provision of adequate financial and material resources required for the implementation of Council Objectives in consultation with the Councils management team
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY
– Attends quarterly Board meetings to present Council’s operational plans, achievements and constraints
– Conducts weekly consultative meetings with the top management team to review and advise on issues pertaining to all Operations of council Reviews and updates corporate plans, policies and procedures on a regular basis Holds regular consultative meetings with donors to update them on progress and challenges on implementation of projects and canvass technical assistance and material requirements Monitors cost control and reviews the Council’s operational budget quarterly. Exercises general authority over the general conduct, ne performance and discipline of Council staff. Conducts annual performance appraisals and provides to continual feedback to subordinates for performance IR improvement.

A Social Science or Medical Degree A Master’s Degree in Programme Management, Public Health or Population Studies or equivalent At least 10 years Senior Management experience in Family Planning and Reproductive Health Programmes
