Suitably qualified, experienced and motivated candidates are invited to apply for the position of Exchange Control Officer which has arisen within the International Banking & Exchange Control Department.

Duties And Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following, among others:

• Preparing and updating Exchange Control Applications Register and submit it to Exchange Control Manager.

• Approval and batching of international banking payments in line with existing Exchange Control Regulations.

• Analysing customer Exchange Control Applications and preparing proposals for approval by the Exchange Control Manager

• Preparing applications to register importers and exporters with the Exchange Control Authority.

• Reviews and consolidates International Payments, Treasury and Trade Finance transactions and prepare Bank-wide Exchange Control Returns

• Keeping abreast with Exchange Control Regulatory developments and communicating the same to branch, treasury, trade operations staff and customers.

• Providing input in the development of Procedures & Process Flows for International Banking, Treasury and Trade Operations to ensure Exchange Control compliance

• Interfacing with Exchange Control Inspectors on onsite and offsite assessments and inspections of International Banking, Treasury and Trade Operations.

• Attending and resolving Exchange Control customer queries.

• Collecting revenue on Exchange Control Applications and ensure correct and timeous accounting.

• Recommending profitable pricing of Exchange Control services to the Exchange Control Manager.

• Training and coaching Bank staff on Exchange Control Policy and Regulatory requirements

• Preparing daily, weekly and monthly Exchange Control Operations reports and submits to Manager, Exchange Control.

• Assisting the Exchange Control Manager in conducting Exchange Control compliance inspections within the Bank

• Investigating and providing recommendations to resolve Exchange Control audit issues.

Qualification, Skills and Experience

First Degree in Business, Finance or Economics or equivalent.

3 to 4 years’ experience in an International Banking & Exchange Control department, 2 or more years should be in a position of Exchange Control Supervisor / Exchange Control Officer level.
