Examinations Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:-
Coordinating the compilation of the composite examination time-table.
Communicating with Chairpersons of Departments on Examinations policy and procedures for processing of question papers.
Coordinating the printing and storage of examination question papers.
Coordinating the setting up of examination venues and the printing of attendance slips and registers.
Coordinating all the stationery requirements for examinations.
Coordinating the publication of results.
Supervising the processing of degree certificates.
checking certificates before the Registrar and Vice-Chancellor sign them
Supervising staff processing results.
Coordinating the appointment of external examiners and their travel itinerary.
Servicing the Termination of Studies (Appeals Committee) meetings.
Compiling Examination statistics.
Processing honorarium claims from external examiners.
Supervising junior staff.
Reviewing and monitoring the examinations system to ensure continuous improvement of practices in line with international best practice.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must:
Possess, at least a Master’s Degree in Administration or equivalent, from an institution recognized by the University of Zimbabwe.
Be familiar with Student Information Management Systems.
Have the ability and willingness to work outside normal hours.
Demonstrate strategic and critical thinking.
Have at least 5 years University experience in Administration.
