Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position that has arisen within the Environmental Management Agency (EMA).
Position: ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER – EIA AND ECOSYSTEMS PROTECTION
Station: Mashonaland Central
Reporting to the Provincial Environmental Manager, the job incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all developmental projects are in compliance with the environmental laws, policies and procedures regards Environmental Impact Assessment and Ecosystems Protection.

Duties and Responsibilities entail the following;

Inspects environmental projects and gives post-monitoring certification.
Notifies the respective customers about audits beforehand.
Conducts Environmental bi-annual audits.
Fills in the audit template for easy reference (on environmental issues).
Coordinates the environmental review.
Conducts site visits and inspects areas that are prone to violations.
Writes reports and presentations after every site visit.
Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
Liaises with specialists from waste management and other parties to conduct post certification monitoring.
Reviews quarterly reports.
⦁ Analyses samples from running projects.
Registers environmental consultants (licensing).
Supervises subordinates on a daily basis.
Manages the database of all environmental impact assessments.

Qualification, Experience and Competences:

Degree in Environmental Management, Natural Resources Management, Geography & Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Chemistry, Pollution Science, Geographic Information System orany other related qualification from a recognised institution.
⦁ At least two years’ experience in the environmental field.
Good reading skills
Good analytical skills.
