Grade: 01
Stations: Matabeleland North. Manicaland and Bulawayo Provinces
Reporting to the Provincial Environmental Manager, the job holder the will be responsible for the co-ordination of activities with respect to air, soil and water quality with a view to assessing the levels of various pollutants generated as a result of natural and anthropogenic activities and ensuring enforcement and compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Implements programmes and activities of the Environmental Quality Section.
• Administers relevant sections of the Environmental Management Act and the associated regulations.
• Ensures compliance and enforcement of standards and regulations
• Assists In compling budgetary requirements for input Into the department’s budget and implement budgetary control for the section’s activities.
• Coordinates workshops for Environmental Quality action plans.
• Carries out public consultations.
• Coordinates environmental quality monitoring.
• Attends stakeholder meetings, representing the Agency.
• Investigates environmental quality complaints, enquiries, and requests for Information In accordance with service targets.
• Assists In carrying out icenslng and assessment activities.
• Conducts research activities in support of Environmental Quality studies.
• Prepares periodic and ad-hoc reports as required.

Qualification. Experience and Competences:
• A first degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
• At least three (3) years’ experience In environmental management role covering field operations, laboratory management or environmental protection.
• Sound knowledge of environmental Issues.
• Wide range of enforcement experience.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
