Job Summary

Promote and safeguard public health through implementation and enforcement of environmental health policies and regulations

Ensure compliance with health standards in the community
Qualifications and Requirements
-
5 O Levels including English and Mathematics (one sitting)
-
Degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or equivalent
-
Master’s Degree in Environmental Health or Public Health is a distinct advantage
-
Must be registered under Environmental Health Practitioner’s Council of Zimbabwe
-
Valid practising certificate (attach on application)
-
No criminal record (attach Police clearance)
-
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar work environment in the Public Sector
-
At least 35 years of age
-
Clean Class 4 driver’s licence
-
Be a Zimbabwean citizen
Roles and Responsibilities
-
Coordinate and supervise implementation of environmental health activities
-
Develop strategies to prevent and manage diseases in the area of jurisdiction
-
Inspect premises for licensing and registration certificates issuance
-
Examine and approve building plans
-
Collaborate with other departments on infrastructure design to prevent environmental degradation
-
Identify and propose areas for environmental health policy reviews
-
Compile and submit progress reports to Housing and Community Services Officer
-
Supervise subordinates and students on attachment
-
Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
