We seek to recruit an experienced and qualified Engineering Manager based at Jena Mines in Silobela.

About the Job:

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering team. This position reports to the Mine Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Prepares departmental capital, labour, and operational expenditure budgets for the Engineering Department in liaison with relevant section heads.

• Reviews asset performance with regards to targeted equipment availability and reliability.

• Monitors, controls, and evaluates cost containment and resource management strategies in a manner commensurate with the budget.

• Implement engineering best practices, innovation, and cost-saving initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

• Oversesee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for plant, machinery, and mine infrastructure.

• Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Lead engineering projects including plant expansions, upgrades, and infrastructure development.

• Conducts regular safety and legal compliance inspections and ensuring that Engineering activities are done in compliance with the statutory requirements and the Mine’s standard operating procedures.

• Enforces SHEQ standards in line with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards as well as other relevant legal frameworks.

About You:

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering.

• At least 8 years working experience in the mining industry of which four should be at managerial level.

• Must be a member of a professional institute such as Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers or any other internationally recognized professional body.
