Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, operate and maintain electromechanical mining and processing equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and electromechanical faults.
- Maintain motors, pumps, conveyors, crushers, screens, compressors and related equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential failures.
- Support installation and commissioning of new mining and processing machinery.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams and equipment manuals.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical maintenance teams.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians and local engineering personnel.
- Maintain equipment maintenance records and technical reports.
- Promote safe and efficient operation of mining equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Relevant industrial, mining or mineral-processing experience will be an advantage.
- Practical experience with industrial machinery, motors, pumps, conveyors and automated equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a demanding mining environment.
- Good technical documentation and problem-solving skills.
