Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in producing specifications and designs of new public lighting, traffic signals and municipal electrical infrastructure and modifications.
  • Assist in designing, selecting and installing electrical plant and equipment such as power transformers, power generators, motors and motor control centres, refrigeration units and air-conditioners, building lighting, heating and ventilation systems.
  • Assist in designing and installing new public lighting schemes.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances and apparatus.
  • Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications.
  • Order electrical supplies and equipment.
  • Repair electrical faults at all municipal installations.
  • Supervise subordinate employees.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Requirements

  • National Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
  • Skilled Worker Class 1 in Electrical Engineering.
  • A clean Class 4 or Class 3 driver’s licence.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • No criminal record.
  • Results-oriented.
