Africa University, a Pan African, and United Methodist Church Related Institution in Zimbabwe, invites applications from suitably qualified and well-experienced persons to fill the following strategic position:
ELECTRICIAN
Reporting to the Fleet and Facilities Manager, the Electrician is responsible for electrical repairs, maintenance, and installation on Campus and University Residence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom and other electrical systems
Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems
Install safety and distribution components for instance switches, resistors, circuit-breaker and panels among others
Prepare and assemble conducts and connect wiring through them
Prevent breakdown of system by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated, cables and cleaning circuits
Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards/malfunctions and repair and substitute damaged units
Assist procurement with the quality of electrical materials
Adherence to preventative maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS
Electrician Journeyman Skilled Worker
National Certificate In Electrical Power Engineering
Five Ordinary Levels Including Maths, English and Science
First aid course is an added advantage
Class four driver’s license with more than two years’ driving experience
At least five years working experience
Experience working in a tertiary institution set up
