PROFILE DESCRIPTION

Qualification and Experience

• Class 1 Electrician.
• National certificate in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years’ experience in mining industry.
• High Voltage 33KV Switching certificate.
• HT cable jointing and termination certificate.
• Experience in PLCs, VSDs and soft-starters.
• Apprenticeship training is an added advantage.
• Should have sound knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.

WORK OUTPUT DESCRIPTION

Core work outputs:

• Ensuring safety of self and others by strict adherence to safety procedures such as lockout/tag out, risk assessment and set electrical standards.
• Performing first line and second line maintenance activities which include daily inspections, diagnostics/troubleshooting and overhauling of electrical equipment.
• Switching and servicing high voltage equipment.
• Performing scheduled maintenance, statutory testing and inspections on substation equipment.
• Installation and maintenance of crushers, pumps, conveyors, vibrating screens and overhead cranes circuits.
• Attending to all electrical breakdowns
