Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome Production, is hiring an Electrical Engineer for its Smelting Division. The position is on a fixed-term contract, renewable based on performance.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

 

 

– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable institution.
– ZESA 33KV Switching Certificate.
– At least 5 years of post-qualification experience (minimum 3 years at Section Engineer level in heavy industry, manufacturing, or mining).
– Strong knowledge of electrical construction, installation, and maintenance.
– Proficiency in PLCs and High Voltage switchgear maintenance.
– Understanding of Integrated Maintenance Management Systems.
– Experience in project formulation, appraisal, and execution.
– Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
– Knowledge of SHE and Quality Management Systems (NOSA SHE exposure is an advantage).
– Strong people management skills and ability to work in a team.
– Membership in a recognized engineering professional body.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

– Overseeing plant and equipment maintenance, ensuring execution within budget and timeline.
– Ensuring engineering work complies with statutory regulations and safety standards.
– Maintaining high equipment availability.
– Ensuring regulatory compliance in maintenance activities.
– Leading project formulation and execution.
– Managing SHE and Quality Management Systems within the section.
– Achieving results through teamwork.
