Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in electrical engineering
• Preferably 6 years of electrical engineering/ substation experience
• Knowledge of substation protection and control design
• Knowledge of substation construction and design deliverables
• 330kV switching authorization is an added advantage
• ECZ registration and/or membership of a professional engineering institution

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides design support to construction personnel during project implementation
• Assists construction on troubleshooting and problem resolution and provides on-site, support
• Verifies that field modifications will not undermine the integrity of the design a incorporates held modifications into the design documents to ensure configuration control of system components
• Participates in reviews and updates of designs and drawings, tracks all the updates a produces reports
• Participates in plant and equipment testing and commissioning
• Monitors critical parameters during and after test runs and commissioning of plant and equipment
• Identifies deviations in plant parameters from specifications
