PETROTRADE
DRIVER/MESSENGER
The role exists to support business operations by ferrying passengers and goods from one point to another, efficiently and effectively. The role, although based in Harare, involves travelling outside Harare.
Key Job Functions
-
Efficient and safe transportation of clients, staff, and guests to meetings, job sites, and other destinations. This includes planning and organising trips safely and efficiently by applying route planning and time management skills.

Efficient and safe transportation, delivery and collection of documents and goods delivered internally and externally, according to procedures.

Customer service and centricity: Manage good relations with any assigned passengers with intent of satisfying their needs, this includes attending to clients and answering their queries.

Keeping a log of all servicing and repairing of motor vehicles and indicating so when due.

Conducting routine maintenance and vehicle checks, including fuel inventory and mileage logs, booking for service and always ensuring general cleanliness and maintenance of motor vehicles.

Driving safely and courteously, and maintaining a safe driving record

Adhering to all policies and procedures, and following traffic laws, including company policy on transport, ergonomics, safety, and environmental issues

Performing general administrative duties like filing, faxing, copying, expense reporting
Requirements of the Job:
-
A minimum of five (5) Ordinary Level passes including a post high school qualification is an added advantage

Clean and valid Class 1 Valid Driving Licence and an advanced driving qualification are essential

At least 10 years’ demonstrable experience within a similar role – Ideally previous experience of high mileage driving within a professional environment or reputable organisation. VIP driving experience is essential.

Basic car maintenance and administration skills

Confident, safe and responsible driver, great at timekeeping and managing multiple diaries.

Mature, well-presented and professional, inspired to innovate, always respectful, fully accountable.

Observant with excellent attention to detail. Good communication skills, able to give instructions and explain basic vehicle controls and appropriate paperwork.
