One of our clients in the transport sector is looking for a diver instructor to join them immediately.
Duties And Responsibilities
Administering theory test for drivers.
Road testing drivers for driving competence;
Short listing of drivers with potential to be employed by the company and submitting recommendations for their employment to management;
Ensuring that any newly appointed drivers are properly inducted;
Identifying driver training needs;
Developing training materials and aids relevant to address the identified needs;
Administering training to help meet the needs so identified;
Following up on any drivers so trained to evaluate the effectiveness of any training given;
Ensuring that all drivers undergo periodic defensive driving training and that they have valid defensive driving certificates at any given time;
Ensuring that drivers have valid documentations at all time; Inspecting trucks, trailers and equipment when they are in the depot to ensure that there is no abuse from drivers;
Educating and encouraging drivers to use same respectfully and responsibly;
Recommending driver/truck allocations to the Operations Manager;
Getting involved with workshop management where necessary to prevent and or reduce avoidable break downs;
Attending to accidents and breakdowns in order to ascertain causes of same;
Qualifications And Experience
Driving instructor certificate
Skills
Strong teaching and communication skills
Clean driving record
