Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient and safe transportation to support project activities.
- Transport project staff, partners, and materials to field locations, including geographically dispersed and difficult-to-access areas.
- Support monitoring and supervision visits.
- Maintain project vehicles in a safe and roadworthy condition.
- Maintain accurate transport documentation in line with organizational policies and donor compliance requirements.
- Safely transport staff, partners, consultants, and visitors as assigned.
- Deliver and collect documents, equipment, and other organizational materials.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel records, and mileage reports.
- Monitor service schedules and promptly report vehicle defects or maintenance requirements.
- Assist with loading and unloading supplies where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with road traffic regulations and organizational fleet management policies.
- Support administrative and logistical activities as assigned.
Requirements
- A valid and clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence.
- Secondary level education.
- Minimum of five years’ professional driving experience, preferably with an NGO, development agency, or corporate organization.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Knowledge of Zimbabwe’s road networks and traffic regulations.
- Excellent driving and navigation skills.
- Defensive Driving Certificate is desirable but not mandatory.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Mature, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and travel when required.
