JOB DESCRIPTION
Africaid is a community organisation which through its Zvandiri programme, integrates community prevention, treatment, care and support for children, adolescents and young people living with HIV. Works with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) and National AIDS Council in implementing these interventions with funding from USAID, Zim-TTECH, UNICEF, ELMA, READY+, ZHI, Maruva Trust and ZACH.
Position summary
The Driver’s role is a key position with very huge demands at any given time hence the person should be a team player with excellent communication skills, who achieves balance in their life and grow the enthusiasm of fellow employees for the global achievement of the organisational set goals and objectives.
Job description
The Driver responsible for:
- Providing reliable and safe driving services and administrative services in, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol whilst ensuring compliance with driving rules and regulations;
- The Driver should always demonstrate a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Qualifications
The Driver must have:
- 5 O Levels Including english language;
- Clean class 4 driver’s licence;
- Defensive driving certificate a must;
- At least 2 years of work experience as a driver in an NGO, or donor funded organization with a safe driving record;
- Must have basic skills in vehicle maintenance; knowledge of logistics;
- Knowledge of health and safety too;
- Must have good customer service skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Studying towards CILT or CILT certification an added advantage.
