Background
Umzingwane AIDS Network seeks an experienced candidate for the role of District Programme Officer based at the programme district for the ZHI-funded Re-ignite Innovate Sustain and Empower (RISE) project under DREAMS programme. The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe women (DREAMS) program aims to reducing new HIV infections amongst adolescent girls and young women and will be implemented in four Matabeleland South districts – Bulilima, Mangwe, Gwanda and Beitbridge. UAN will implement the combination of socioeconomic approaches for caregivers layered with positive parenting i.e. Economic strengthening and Sinovuyo programme.
Duties And Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities
The Programme Officer will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the Economic Strengthening and Sinovuyo (parent child communication) activities at district level; In liaison with the Programs M&E Coordinator, implement the ES and Sinovuyo activities following donor, organizational and program guidelines; Assist in developing and monitoring annual work plans and budgets, as well as associated deliverables and results/outputs; Prepare, coordinate review, edit, and disseminate project-related reports and documents including progress updates, curricula, and other documents and reports; Provides technical support in management of the service contracts; Coordinate the timely identification and addressing of program implementation challenges; Coordinate program documentation (Reports, Success Stories, Support in the development of IEC Materials); Perform clerical and administrative support tasks, including creation and editing of program correspondences, purchasing documents, reports, program handbooks, and other publications; Any other duty as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications And Experience
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in social science or related field, and a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience working on adolescent and youth health related interventions; Experience of ES and parenting program planning and implementation at the community and district levels working with NGO sectors and relevant government departments; Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning, administrative, and financial management systems; Knowledge of community based economic strengthening; Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports; Prior experience in implementing DREAMS programs an added advantage.
