A. DISTRICT PLANNER
The Planning Officer will be the Head of Department for the Planning Department and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
Qualifications and Attributes:
⦁ A Degree in Rural and Urban Planning or equivalent.
⦁ Master in the related field will be an added advantage.
⦁ Distinct computer skills such as AutoCAD and GIS.
⦁ At least 3 years of working experience in a Local Authority, Local Government or similar.
⦁ Aclean Class 4 Drivers Licence.
⦁ Police clearance.
⦁ At least 30 years old.
Duties and Responsibilities:
⦁ Coordinate and manage the day-to-day functions of the Roads and Works and Planning Department.
⦁ Provide professional advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Council on planning and other administrative issues.
⦁ Compile the district development master plan.
⦁ Prepare layout plans.
⦁ Carrying out development control.
⦁ Approve building plans.
