Minimum Qualifications and Experience

1. A degree from a recognised university in Urban Planning and Development, Rural and Urban Planning or equivalent
2. At least three years post qualification experience in middle or senior management in a Local Authority or Local Government environment
3. At least 30 years old and mature
4. A citizen of Zimbabwe
5. No criminal record
6. A clean record of service within the local government fraternity
7. A class 4 driver’s licence is a mustDuties and Responsibilities
   • Preparation of the District Development plans
   • Preparation of Master and Local plans
   • Preparation of Layout plans of spatial layout plans
   • Land use management
   • Carry out development control
   • Carry out plan approvals
   • Supervising land surveys
   • Assist in the valuation of properties and coordinate preparation of council valuation roll
   • Preparation of the departmental budget
   • Servicing the Planning and Development Committee
   • Preparation of monthly and incidental reports
   • Coordination of the District Local Economic Development (LED)
   • Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer
