The Public Service Commission is inviting applications to fill the vacant post of 1 x Director, Valuation and Estates Management in the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Contribute to the formulation, implementation and review of policies on valuation and estates management in line with the Ministry’s strategic plan and national development imperatives.
2. Superintend overthe provision of themarket value of land, buildings and commercial property for Government.
3. Proffer advice to Line Ministries, Government Departments and other Stakeholders on effective strategies to follow when buying properties or disposing of property.
4. Lead negotiations and activities associated with Government property and all tenant matters including Lease enforcement, rent reviews, Lease renewals and surrenders
5. Manage and offer advice on valuation of Government buildings, plant and machinery.
6. Provide technical advice to stakeholders on Government Estate Management functions.
7. Preside over property related disputes on behalf of Government.
8. Oversee the preparation of reports to Courts in contested matters and matters of appeal on Government estate.
9. Manage human, financial and material resources allocated to the Section.

QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES
⦁ A degree in Valuation and Estate Management/ Real Estate Management/Property Development and Valuation or any other related qualification.
⦁ Aminimum of six (6) years’ relevant experience, two (2) of which must be in the Deputy Director grade or equivalent level.
⦁ Registered with the Valuers Council of Zimbabwe.
⦁ Excellent negotiation and problem solving skills.
⦁ Good leadership qualities.
⦁ Possession of high analytical skills.
⦁ Agood communicator.
⦁ Agood team leader.
⦁ Ability to employ information communication technologies in valuation and estates management or related decision areas.
