Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions at the University of Zimbabwe:

• DIRECTOR, UNIVERSITY OF ZIMBABWE PRESS
  Reports to: Librarian

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
❖ Overseeing the establishment of the University of Zimbabwe Press, and the implementation of its production and publishing strategies, policies and processes;
Coordinating and managing the Press’s Technical and Administrative team;
Providing leadership in the transition to digital/online publishing for the family of University of Zimbabwe Journals;
❖ Serving as the lead contact between press and scholarly publishing community
Providing leadership in the timely publishing of the Kugona Ukwenelisa: Journal of Science Technology and Entrepreneurial
Ecosystems Development (KU-JSTEED);
❖ Performing any other duties as assigned by the University Librarian.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of a relevant Master’s Degree in Publishing, Media Studies or Communication from a reputable institution.
A PhD qualification and experience in academic/scholarly publishing will be an added advantage.
At least five (5) years’ working experience in a variety of publishing contexts at senior management level.
