2. DIRECTOR OF WORKS

Salary Grade: T12
Reporting to: Town Secretary

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years post qualification experience in a similar position.
• Membership with a recognized professional body.
• Clean Class 4 Driver’s License.
• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of local government systems, construction and management systems.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervising the Works Department.
• Planning and coordinating all engineering and technical activities.
• Preparing and submitting departmental reports.
• Supervising and training department staff.
• Ensuring safety and security of department equipment.
• Preparing and submitting job cards.
• Maintaining department equipment.
• Carrying out procurement of department equipment and materials.
• Carrying out any other duties as assigned.
