Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacancies that have arisen within the Municipality of Marondera.
Reporting to the TOWN CLERK
Key Result Areas
This Director of Housing and Community Services is responsible for the strategic management of all the built-up environment and related community services on behalf of Council.
Preparation and implementation of the Housing and community Services departmental strategy in line with Council and national strategy
Educational planning and development and the management of Council’s schools in liaison with the Ministry of Education Planning, development and management of Council’s primary health care system in liaison with the Ministry of Health
Issuance of Council’s residential, commercial and industrial stands together with the effective and transparent management of waiting list inter alia,
Management and training of all the staff of the Directorate
-Successful applicant should be a team player with demonstrable leadership and innovation qualities and be able to produce documentary evidence of projects and programs successful executed in the past
-Successful applicant should be mature communicator with ability to interact at all levels and should be a strategic thinker capable of long-term planning and effective problem solving. Monitoring and evaluating council and departmental strategy implementation
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
-Applicants should be in possession of a degree in administration, social science, local government or rural and urban planning development or equivalent from a recognized university.
-A Master’s degree or a Phd will be an added advantage
-Applicants should have at least five years post qualification experience in middle management in an administrative capacity or the housing delivery industry
Applicants should be computer literate and should have a clean class
-Successful applicant should be a team player with demonstrable leadership and innovation qualities and be able to produce documentary evidence of projects and programs successful executed in the past
-Successful applicant should be mature communicator with ability to interact at all levels and should be a strategic thinker capable of long-term planning and effective problem solving. Monitoring and evaluating council and departmental strategy implementation
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
-Applicants should be in possession of a degree in administration, social science, local government or rural and urban planning development or equivalent from a recognized university.

Applicants should be computer literate and should have a clean class 4 drivers’ licence.
At least 30 years old
No criminal record
-A clean record of service within the local government fraternity
-A citizen of Zimbabwe
