Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above mentioned position which has become vacant in the Engineering Sen ices Department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• A successful candidate should have the following qualifications and experience
• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Master’s in Civil Engineering or any relevant post-qualification will be an added advantage.
• Membership of a relevant profession body
• 5 years post qualification experience
• Clean Class 4 Driver’s licence
• No criminal record

CORE COMPETENCE:

• Excellent Civil Engineering and Town Planning skills.
• Knowledge of various accounting packages, including Pastel.
• Excellent risk analysis skills.
• Knowledge of local authority business and processes.
• Good written communication, inter-personal and negotiating ski 11 s.
• Accuracy at figures and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong monitoring and supervision skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The design, construction and maintenance of municipal water infrastructure treatment storage and distribution, sewerage reticulation, treatment and disposal, roads and storm water drainage and public lighting.
• Town Planning and development control
• Building inspectorate
• Management and maintenance of plant, equipment and vehicles
• General administration including supervision of staff, budget preparation and control
• Preparing reports.
